iPhone’s shortcut widget is a feature that lets you quickly perform specific actions from the home screen or lock screen. You can customize it through the "Shortcuts" app to easily launch apps, create notes, and more. Adding shortcuts to the lock screen is especially recommended!

How to Use Shortcut Widgets Conveniently

• Open X or Instagram directly from the lock screen
• Access a search browser like Google straight from the lock screen

How to Add a Shortcut Widget to the Lock Screen

1. Hold down the lock screen.
2. Tap "Customize."

3. Tap "+ ADD WIDGETS."
4. Tap "Shortcuts."

5. Tap the “widget” to add it.
6. Tap the added widget.

7. Select the shortcut you want to open.
8. Tap the "×" mark.

9. Tap outside of the frame.
10. Tap "Done" in the top right corner.

11. That's it!

How to Add a Shortcut Widget to the Home Screen

1. Hold down the home screen.
2. Tap "Edit" at the top left.

3. Tap "Add Widget."
4. In the "Search Widgets" field, type "Shortcuts."

5. Tap "Shortcuts."
6. Choose the widget type and tap "+ Add Widget."

7. Tap "Custom."
8. Select the shortcuts you want to assign.

9. Finally, tap "Done" in the top right corner — you're all set!

What If the Shortcut You Want Isn't Available?

While some shortcuts come pre-made, if the one you want isn’t available, you can easily create your own 📝Let's set it up so you can open X directly from the lock screen!

How to Create a Shortcut

1. Open the Shortcuts app and tap the "+" button.
2. Tap "Search Actions."

3. Type "Open App".
4. Tap the blue "App" field.

5. Search for "X" and tap it. (I’ll use "X" as an example here!)
6. Tap "Done" in the top right corner.

Your shortcut will appear under "My Shortcuts" when setting up your lock screen!
