iPhone’s shortcut widget is a feature that lets you quickly perform specific actions from the home screen or lock screen. You can customize it through the "Shortcuts" app to easily launch apps, create notes, and more. Adding shortcuts to the lock screen is especially recommended!

How to Add a Shortcut Widget to the Lock Screen

  1. Hold down the lock screen.
  2. Tap "Customize."

  5. Tap "Shortcuts."

  7. Tap the “widget” to add it.
  8. Tap the added widget.

  11. Tap the "×" mark.

How to Add a Shortcut Widget to the Home Screen

  1. Hold down the home screen.
  2. Tap "Edit" at the top left.

  5. In the "Search Widgets" field, type "Shortcuts."

  8. Choose the widget type and tap "+ Add Widget."

  11. Select the shortcuts you want to assign.

While some shortcuts come pre-made, if the one you want isn’t available, you can easily create your own 📝Let's set it up so you can open X directly from the lock screen!

How to Create a Shortcut

  1. Open the Shortcuts app and tap the "+" button.
  2. Tap "Search Actions."

  5. Tap the blue "App" field.
