iOS 26’s Lock Screen Customization

With iOS 26, the lock screen takes a huge leap forward! You can now adjust the size and texture of the clock, able to move the widget area, and even use Spatial Scene Mode for 3D-style wallpapers. Here’s a full guide on how to customize your lock screen with iOS 26’s latest features.

New Lock Screen Features in iOS 26

Here are the big additions in iOS 26:

1. Change the Click Size & Texture

In older iOS versions, you could already customize the clock’s font and color. But now, with iOS 26, you can also resize the clock and choose a new glass texture.

Resize the Clock

1. Hold down your lock screen.
2. Tap “Customize”.

3. Drag the bottom-right corner of the clock to resize it.

4. Tap “Done“.
5. Finished!

Change Clock Texture

A new Glass option has been added alongside the classic Solid look 🧊

1. Hold down the lock screen.
2. Tap “Customize“.

3. Tap the clock.
4. Select “Glass“.

5. Choose your preferred glass color or font.
6. Tap “ד mark.

7. Tap “Done“.
8. Finished! Now your clock can look frosted and semi-transparent.

2. Move Lock Screen Widgets

Until now, widgets were stuck under the clock, often clashing with wallpapers. With iOS 26, you can now move them to the bottom of the screen, right above the flashlight/camera controls ✨

How to move widgets:

1. Hold down the lock screen.
2. Tap “Customize”.

3. Drag the widget area from under the clock down to the bottom.

4. Add or adjust widgets as needed.
5. Tap “Done“.

6. Finished!

If you enlarge the clock, widgets will automatically move to the bottom.

By the way... Starting with iOS 26, you can also change the clock size. If you make the clock larger, the widget area will automatically move down.

3. Set 3D Wallpapers with Spatial Scene Mode

The brand-new Spatial Scene Mode converts high-quality iPhone photos into 3D-like wallpapers. When you tilt your iPhone, the wallpaper shifts, creating depth and realism. Perfect for pet or portrait photos!

How to Enable Spatial Scene Mode

1. Hold down the lock screen.
2. Tap “+” mark.

3. Select a photo for your wallpaper.
4. Tap ”the hexagon icon”.

5. Wait while iOS generates the Spatial Scene.
6. It is applied.

7. Tap ”Add”.
8. Choose to set it as both lock & home screen or just lock screen.

9. Done! You now have a 3D-style wallpaper.

Combine Spatial Scene with Depth Effect

If you also turn on the Depth Effect, you can layer your wallpaper with extra depth.

How to Turn On the Depth of Field Effect

1. On the wallpaper edit screen, tap the ”○ icon” next to the hexagon.
2. Tap ”Depth Effect”.

⚠️ If the option doesn’t show up, it means the photo isn’t compatible. Try a high-resolution photo where the subject is clearly visible.

Tips for Spatial Scene Wallpapers

• Works best with high-resolution photos where the main subject (person, pet, object) is clear.
• iOS may enlarge the subject slightly when applying 3D depth, so pick a wallpaper that looks good even when zoomed.
