What is the Android Home Screen?

The home screen is the screen that appears after unlocking your phone. In other words, it's the first screen you see when using your phone! When your phone is idle, it locks itself, and this is called the lock screen 🔓.

1. Changing the Wallpaper

1. Tap Settings, then tap “Wallpaper and style”.
2. Tap “Change Wallpapers”.

3. Select the image you want to use as your wallpaper (if you want to use your own image, tap Gallery).
4. Put a check only the Home Screen under.

5. Tap “Next”.
6. Tap “Done” in the top right corner (you can also adjust things like frames and effects here).

2. Adding App Icons on the Home Screen

1. Swipe up on the home screen.
2. Hold down the app icon you want to add.

3. Removing App Icons

You can remove unnecessary app icons from your home screen! The app won’t be deleted, just hidden from the home screen.

1. Hold down the icon you want to delete.
2. Tap “Remove”. Be careful not to tap Uninstall, or the app itself will be deleted.

4. Moving App Icons

You can move app icons wherever you like on your home screen.

1. Hold down the app icon you want to move.
2. Drag it to the desired location. You can also move it to another page by dragging it to the edge of the screen.

5. Creating Folders

You can also create folders to store multiple app icons together.

1. Hold down one of the app icons you want to group.
2. Drag it over another app.

3. Enter the folder name and tap “OK”.
4. The folder has been created!

6. Adding Widgets

1. Hold down a space on your home screen.
2. Tap “Widgets”.

3. Select the widget you want to add.
4. Tap “Add”.

5. The widget has been added to your home screen!
