In this article, I'll explain in detail how to set up a countdown widget using the popular widget app "WidgetClub" on both iPhone and Android.
What is WidgetClub?
WidgetClub is a multifunctional app for customizing your home screen. You can change wallpapers and icons, as well as add various widgets. The countdown widget I’m introducing today is one of these, allowing you to visually enjoy the countdown to events or special days.
【iPhone】Setting Up a Countdown Widget
- Download the WidgetClub app.
- Launch the app and tap the "+" button.
- Select "Widget".
- Choose the widget size. (The image shows Small size)
- Tap on your preferred design for the countdown widget.
- Enter the color, background, and countdown information.
- Tap "Set".
- Tap the widget settings frame to configure it.
From here, the method to add to the home screen differs between iOS 17 and 18⚠️ If you're using iOS 17, proceed as is. About iOS18 will be explained after the iOS17 section.
- Go to the home screen and hold down until the apps start shaking.
- Tap the "+" button in the top left corner.
- Type "wi" to search for WidgetClub.
- Select “WidgetClub”.
- Find the widget you set up and tap "Add Widget".
- Tap the "Done" button.
- Setup complete!

- Hold down on the home screen.
- Tap "Edit" in the top left corner.
- Tap "Add Widget".
- Search for "WidgetClub" in the search box.
- Swipe left and right to find the widget you want to set up. Widgets are displayed in groups of 20 for S size, 20 for M size, and 20 for L size from left to right.
- Once you find it, tap "Add Widget" at the bottom.
- Done!

Here is how to set up a “Countdown Widget” on your lock screen.
- Download the WidgetClub app.
- Open WidgetClub and select the "Lock Screen" tab.
- Choose the "Countdown" widget.
- Set the font, text size, and anniversary date.
- Tap "Set".
- Tap the widget settings frame to configure it.
- Go to the lock screen and hold down it.
- Tap "Customize".
- Select the “lock screen”.
- Tap "Add Widget" below the lock screen clock.
- Select “WidgetClub”.
- Choose the widget you just set up.
- Tap the "×" button twice.
- Tap "Done" in the top right corner.
