[android] I can’t add widgets on my screen

WidgetClub

You need a dedicated app to customize your home screen in style! This is the definitive version of the dress-up app that has all the dress-up materials!

Check this app

It sometime happens because of the home launcher app you use.

How to check weather you are using the supported home app or not

1.Open WidgetClub and check if a gray bar appears on the top page like the one shown below.

If the gray bar is displayed: You need to switch the home app.

If the gray bar is not displayed: It should work fine, but if you cannot add it, please contact us through the app's "Profile > top right '⚙' mark > Contact form."

2. Tap the gray bar, There’s two patterns depending on the device’s state.

Pattern A. If the “Change Home App" button is displayed

There is a supported home app on your device. The name of the home app is mentioned in the popup, so please switch to the specified home app using the "Switch Home App" button. (In the example below, it instructs to switch to Nova Launcher, so switch to Nova Launcher)

Pattern B. If the "Download Nova Launcher for free" button is displayed

1.Since there is no supported home app installed, you need to download a supported home app. We recommend Nova Launcher (free), so tap the button to proceed with the installation of Nova Launcher.

Why do we need to change the home launcher?

In the case of Android, it seems that the development of the home app is left to the various smartphone brands, and this is happening because of the varying quality of the home app. (WidgetClub cannot do anything about it because the widget app is based on the home app...😭)

▼Applications that are currently reported to cause widgets to disappear

  • Docomo UX live

(Docomo UX live is set by default on docomo devices, but there are multiple reports of bugs with the widget.)
