How to Find the Missing App Icons on Android

Have you ever gone to use an app and realized it’s missing from your home screen? Here are three ways to find those missing apps on your Galaxy (Android 14), and a handy trick to ensure new apps automatically appear on your home screen.

1. Check the App Drawer

If the app has disappeared from your home screen, start by checking the App Drawer. All installed apps should be listed here.

1. Swipe up from the bottom of your home screen.
2. The App Drawer will display all installed apps.

Can’t Find the App in the Drawer?

1. Tap the search bar at the top of the drawer.
2. Type the app name then you can find it quickly.

Add an App to the Home Screen from the Drawer

1. Hold down the app in the drawer.
2. Tap “Add to Home”.

3. The app now appear on your home screen.

2. Check for Settings

If you can’t see the app in the drawer either, it may be set to hide.

1. Open Settings and tap Home screen.
2. Tap “Hide apps on Home and Apps screens”.

3. Check if the app is listed under Hidden apps.
4. If it is, tap the “-” mark next to the app and press Done.

5. This will make the app visible again.

3. Confirm the App is Installed

If the app still isn’t showing up, it’s possible it was uninstalled.

You can check from the Google Play Store.

1. Tap your “Google account icon” in the top right corner.
2. Tap “Manage apps & device”.

3. Tap “Manage”.
4. Under Installed, you can see all the apps currently installed on your device.

If the app isn’t listed, you’ll need to reinstall it.
