4 Fixes For AirPods Not Showing Up in the Widget

Even when your AirPods are connected, they might not appear in your iPhone's widget… Here are four simple ways to fix that. I'll walk you through the steps using iOS 18 as an example, so make sure your device is updated to iOS 18 or later!

What Is the AirPods Widget on iPhone?

When you add the Battery Widget to your iPhone, you can check the battery levels of your phone and Bluetooth-connected accessories like your AirPods. (Some third-party products are also available)

On the Lock Screen

You can see the battery level of your AirPods case. There are two widget styles available!

On the Home Screen

On the home screen, the Battery Widget shows battery levels for both the AirPods case and earbuds. You can choose between an icon view or a list view!

4 Ways to Fix AirPods Not Showing in Widgets

1. Make Sure Bluetooth Is Turned On

If your AirPods aren't showing in the Battery Widget, first check whether Bluetooth is turned on.

If it’s off, the widget won’t display your AirPods ⚠️

2. Reconnect Your AirPods

Try removing your AirPods from your device and pairing them again:

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth
  2. Under “My Devices,” tap the info (i) icon next to your AirPods

  4. Tap “Forget This Device”
  5. Confirm by tapping “Forget Device”

  7. Once removed, open your AirPods case and tap “Connect”

3. Re-add the Battery Widget

Try removing and re-adding the Battery Widget:

  1. Hold down the Battery Widget
  2. Tap “Remove Widget”

  4. Hold down on a space on your home screen
  5. Tap “Edit” in the top-left corner

  8. Search for Batteries

  10. Choose your preferred widget style (icon or list) and tap “Add Widget”

4. Restart Your iPhone

If reconnecting your AirPods and re-adding the widget doesn’t work, your iPhone might just need a reset. Try restarting your device:

  1. Press and hold the side button and volume button at the same time
  2. Slide the Power Off slider to the right

  4. After the screen turns off, press and hold the side button again until the Apple logo appears
