Standby mode is a display mode that automatically provides useful information when you charge your iPhone in a horizontal position while it's in the locked screen state.

In standby mode, there are three screens available for switching by swiping: the "Widget" screen, where you can display convenient widgets like to-do lists and weather; the "Photo" screen, which functions like a slideshow for your photos; and the "Clock" screen, which displays a large clock.

Aside from its stylish appeal, Standby Mode offers outstanding functionality that every iPhone user should master. Here are the eligible devices for Standby Mode:
For those setting up Standby Mode for the first time, you'll need to prepare in advance! Let's turn on Standby Mode following these steps:

Now, the initial setup is complete! Let's proceed to switch the screen to Standby Mode.
1.Tap the power button to access the lock screen.
2.Place your iPhone horizontally and insert the charging cable.

3.Wait, and the screen will switch to Standby Mode!

(Important note: To activate Standby Mode, ensure that your iPhone's side is perpendicular to the floor and that it is placed horizontally. Otherwise, Standby Mode will not activate.)
By the way, if you want to exit Standby Mode, simply unplug the charger or switch your iPhone to a vertical position, and it will return to the normal screen automatically.
Standby Mode allows you to switch between three screens: Widget, Photo, and Clock. We've picked up some of their convenient features and customization methods!
The most convenient screen is the Widget screen, where you can display up to two square widgets side by side! By adding widgets like "Reminder" and "Weather," you can instantly check your to-do list and tomorrow's weather, making it incredibly useful!

You can always display up to two widgets, but you can switch to different widgets by swiping up and down.

The "Photo" screen turns your cherished photos into a slideshow that automatically transitions!

While the default mode is "Recommended," where your iPhone picks photos from your entire collection, you can also choose to display specific images! This allows you to relish in happy memories or your favorite photos before going to sleep. 📷

Note: Create an album with the photos you want to display before following these steps!
1.While on the lock screen and in a horizontal position with the charging cable plugged in...
2.Swipe to access the Photo screen.

3.Long-press the screen.
4.Tap the "+" in the top left corner.

5.Select the album you want to display.
6.Tap "Done."

Please note that when setting this up, we found that for vertical-sized images, there were images that displayed nicely and those that didn't 😢. If the iPhone recognizes a clear image with faces, it will crop to feature the faces. However, for unclear images, the middle part of the vertical image will be cropped, and the result might not show faces clearly, so please be cautious!

The "Clock" screen allows for a prominently displayed clock! Who would have thought your iPhone could also serve as interior decor? (How extravagant...!) For those with older iPhones, updating to iOS 17 might give them a second life as interior decorations. 😂
It could be perfect for studying for exams or preparing for tests!
1.While Standby Mode is active, swipe from right to left to access the clock.
2.Swipe from top to bottom to switch to different clock designs!
