How to Add Notes on the Android Home Screen

Can I Display Notes on the Android Lock Screen?

While the Galaxy (Android 14) supports adding widgets to the lock screen*, however, Samsung's native note app, the "Samsung Notes" widget cannot be added.

3 Methods to Display Notes on Android Lock Screen

• Using reminder widgets
• Utilizing the text display feature on the lock screen

1. Using Reminder Widgets

There are two types of reminder widgets: one that only shows the number of reminders and the other can display up to three items, making it useful as a note feature.

1. Hold down the lock screen.
2. Tap the widget area.

3. Tap “Reminder”.
4. Tap the one displaying the memo contents.

5. Tap "Done"
6. Tap the added widget.

7. Tap the "+" mark in the bottom right to add the content you want to display. Make sure to set the date to "Today" as future dates won't be displayed ⚠️

2. Using the Text Display Feature

Android has a default feature that allows you to add text to the lock screen. You can use this to display note content 📝

1. Hold down the lock screen.
2. Tap "+ Contact information" at the bottom of the screen.

3. Enter your text.
4. Tap "Done".

5. Tap "Done" in the top right.
6. It's been added!

3. Using note apps compatible with the lock screen

I recommend “Notes - Pin to notification”. This app displays notes like notifications. You can create and display checklists, making them useful for shopping lists and ToDo lists ✅

How to Use

1. Open the app and tap "Create New".
2. Choose “Note” or “Checklist”. (Note is selected as an example)

3. Enter the Title and Note.
4. Tap “Pinned notification”.

5. Make sure on “Immediately” for the “Pin to notification” section.
6. Back to the Lock Screen and tap the “Notes icon” in the notification area.

7. Now, you can check the notes.
