About Due Date Calculation Methods

1. Calculating from Last Menstrual Period Start Date

• Uses the commonly used Naegele's Rule.
• Add 1 year to the last menstrual period start date, subtract 3 months, and add 7 days to calculate the due date.
• For example, if the last menstrual period start date is January 1, 2024, the due date would be October 8, 2024.
• Pregnancy is generally considered to be 280 days (40 weeks).

2. Calculating from Conception Date

• When calculating from conception date, calculate the due date based on the conception date as the reference.
• Typically, conception is considered to occur about 14 days after intercourse. Therefore, calculate using a date 14 days before the intercourse date as the reference date.
• Add 280 days (40 weeks) from the conception date to calculate the due date.
• For example, if the conception date is January 15, 2024, the conception date is considered January 1, 2024, and the due date would be October 8, 2024.
